Making the Right Choice for Long-lasting Jewelry
Jewelry is that perfect accessory tying your outfit together. When you're wearing a dress that fits just perfect, or your favourite pair of boyfriend jeans & t-shirt - right jewelry is the cherry on top of your entire look. Last thing you'd want, though, is for that favourite piece to start wearing down.
When you're on the lookout for jewelry that is meant to last and keep its quality through time, there are a few key points to keep in mind.
Choice of base metal is key 🔑
They secret to long-lasting jewelry pieces lays in the base metal, the part you don't really 'see.' It makes up the foundation of jewelry and is very important.
At Koréil, we focus on the best there is in the industry: 316L Surgical-grade Stainless Steel for our gold jewelry pieces, and 925 Sterling Silver for our gold vermeil jewelry designs.
Unlike brass and copper, commonly found in a lot jewelry, stainless steel is an extremely robust metal, and with its high durability will easily withstand the signs of daily wear. A perfect base metal of choice for the jewelry you want to wear every day with its resistance to scratches and tears.
You may also have heard about stainless steel being waterproof, and that is very much true for our gold jewelry as well. Rest assured, our jewelry won't tarnish and your body parts wont be stained from our pieces either. And yes, you can safely shower with them!

Gold coating matters ✨
When we say you don't see the base metal, that is of course because of the gorgeous and shiny gold we put on top of it. How that's done, however, really matters when it comes to jewelry.
Koréil uses a process called PVD coating, which in short coats the base metal with an outer layer - in our case a 1.5-2 microns thick layer of 18K gold. This is up to four times as thicker than most gold plated jewelry you'll find on the market.
This process is very precise and results in a brilliant and durable finish to ensure a long lifetime for the jewelry pieces. In this process we also use titanium nitride to harden the coating for that extreme durability, making it even more resistant to corrosion than regular gold plating.

What if I'm sensitive to some metals? ✅
Metal sensitivity is more common than you'd think, and the typical metals found in common jewelry we can be sensitive to are brass, zinc, nickel and lead.
We definitely don't want that, so we made our jewelry pieces hypoallergenic - which is something we're very proud of to offer. For the more sensitive skins out there, Koréil Jewelry is definitely a safe choice.
How timeless are Koréil jewelry? ♾️
While we continuously focus on creating tarnish-free, waterproof and durable jewelry, there is yet another element that ensures your jewelry lasts through seasons - and that is design. Koréil gold and gold vermeil jewelry is designed so that each piece fits in seamlessly with the other. Even more so, each piece is made to fit your style, elevate your wardrobe and make all your days just that much better.
We focus on timeless forms, elegant yet minimalistic styles, with slightly bold lines that never go out of style. At Koréil, we believe that trends are for seasons while style is for a lifetime, which is why our jewelry is meant to be your trusting long-lasting partner.
